Personal learning projects are the smaller learning activities within a Self-directed or institution directed learning course. Personal learning projects reveal to the learner their devotion and dedication. Every learning project will at some point have challenges the learner must overcome to progress. Challenges typically come in two ways. One in the learner creating mental models of the material being studied. The other challenge usually comes as the learner attempts to apply the learning to new and unfamiliar areas of effort. In the first challenge, the one in your mind the barriers may be in your approach to the problem. It may be a process problem. It may be in how you have other information in your mind which may be incorrectly configured. It does not matter much the cause of the barrier. Key is the ability of the learner to recognize the challenge and embrace the toughness of the situation. Persistence through the painful areas of personal learning projects provide the dignity and strength to have further future successes in the mental arena. Taking the same approach as challenges come in the application of knowledge can result in extreme learning and quick application in the real world. No matter what personal learning projects have barriers. Barriers overcome provide new realms of potential previously though impossible. We experience new vistas of learning available to us after we break through a barrier which is only set there as a chance for us to show how much we want it.
